When did you start dancing and why? I started dancing at the age of three after seeing RiverDance in New York City and also seeing my sister dance. I began at Miss Barbara’s School of Dance, then moved over to David DeMarie’s Dance Studio in Clarence. While at both studios I also attended Royal Academy of Ballet for ballet training.
What subjects did you study? I have studied tap, jazz, ballet, modern, gymnastics, social dance, aerial silks, partnering, and improvisation.
What have you performed? Zodiaque Dance Company at the University at Buffalo, Greater Buffalo Youth Ballet with Royal Academy of Ballet, and was recently in Ryan Amador’s Lions music video choreographed by Shannon Mather.
What are your goals for your dance students? I want to have them be the best dancer they can be, but also have dance be their escape from reality and be a safe haven. The more these dancers surrender themselves to this art form the better they become.
What are your achievements/awards? I received regional titles at ADA and Onstage New York dance competitions. I was first runner up at American Dance Awards Nationals in 2012 and first runner up at New York City Dance Alliance Nationals in 2013. Also I was the first dancer to recieve the Geoff Richter Performing Arts Award at the University at Buffalo.
