When did you start dancing and why? My mom got me started in dance when I was 5 years old. I was always dancing around the house. She watched me from her bedroom window do a no-handed flip off the picnic table and knew she had to get me started in something before I hurt myself.
What subjects did you study? I started off as a tapper which is really funny if you know me it never was my strongest subject. I gravitated more to jazz, contortion and acro especially. I also studied ballet and hip hop.
What do you like to do in your free time? Going camping, collection comic books, having game nights with friends.
What do you love about teaching dance? I love being able to create that atmosphere that I had when growing up. Being so excited to get into class to work hard and to want to impress my teachers. I want to do that for all my students.
Who was your biggest influence growing up? My mom for sure. She always did what she could for us and so much more. That is something you don’t fully appreciate until you get older and realize the sacrifices your parents made for you. A close second is Stacey Friend. I would not be the teacher or person I am today without her discipline and making me realize you have to work hard to get what you want. I realized quick things just aren't handed to you in life.
Secret talent? I'm a good shot. I love to go target shooting. I'm pretty good at drawing too.
Favorite article of clothing? Yoga pants for sure.
Favorite snack food? I always say I could eat pizza and chicken every day!
